Library Board
Members are appointed by Huron City mayor for three year
overlapping terms.
An organization of individuals interested in promoting and supporting the collections and services of the Huron Public Library. Used book sales are held at the library. Books, magazines, and other items are accepted as donations for the sale.
Book sale items are received through community donations and/or library discards. Used books and magazines are sold at bargain prices. Book sale room is open during normal library hours.
The Friends of the Library and the Huron La Sertoma members volunteer their time to operate the book sale room.
Proceeds from the book sales are used to support special collections and/or programs.
Items for sale include: many current magazines, many National Geographic Magazines, South Dakota and Midwest history books, paperbacks of all kinds, popular fiction and non-fiction, special areas of interest, as donations are received, discarded Reference materials and children's books
The Huron Public Library Trustees Memorial Fund has been established to accept your donation to the library. Use of your donation may be specified. For more information, contact Colleen Smith at the library, 353-8530.
Volunteers organized to offer reading instruction for adults wishing to improve their reading skills. Tutors are trained to work one-on-one with an adult student. For more information, contact Colleen Smith at the library, 353-8530.
